To be fair. There probably is slight exaggeration in the title to this post. I enjoy running/jogging/ sometimes walking and have only recently started doing it in the mornings. Hopefully I will stick to it for as long as I can, hoping to improve as I continue.
First off, when you read ‘running’ it’s probably a bit intimidating as you may picture Mo Farah sprinting 5 miles but that’s ot what I’m talking about. I’m slowly getting into it and doing jogs/ walks in the mornings. I don’t really calculate my distance yet as I’ve only just started but aim to do a few laps around the block, about a 15-20 minutes jog. Yes, that may not be a lot but we all have to start small to grow.
So far I am loving it.I prefer to jog by myself and put my headphones in and just go for a light jog during the early hours (around 8:30, not that early). Going for a jog or even a brisk walk n the morning is probably as good for the body as it is for the mind. To just clear your mind, feel free for a while and just stop thinking. There’s nothing pushing you back and you can run at your own pace as much or as little as you want. No competitiveness. Just you.
We can easily get sucked t the idea of having to be better then someone but my advice for this is to remember that you’re only doing this for yourself, you don’t need to prove a point to anyone. As long as know you’ve pushed yourself, you can skip down the street with a spring in your step.I also spend around 10 minutes to just quickly stretch out my muscles as you don’t want to be sore the next day.
Let me know how it goes for you. How are you going to start? Also in regards to most fitness and health. You don’t need any special equipment, fancy clothes. you just need dedication.
