Nutella and Banana Pastries

The easiest dessert recipe you will probably ever try. If you like bananas with nutella you will love this.

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry block (or fresh if you know how to make it)
  • One jar of Nutella
  • Two bananas
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons plain flour

If you’re using a frozen puff pastry block make sure you leave it out or put it in the fridge at least 2 hours before using it. You can, of course, make it with a fresh puff pastry but this just takes it bit longer to make.Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Roll out the dough on a floured surface using a bit of plain flour just to make sure it doesn’t stick to the surface. You can cut it out into whatever shape you like just make sure it’s large enough to fit a few banana pieces and spread the nutella.


Once all the squares have been cut spread a tablespoon of nutella on the centre of each or as much as your heart desires. You can top the nutella with any fruit you want really I just think nutella and banana compliment each other well, and it was the only fruit we had. Strawberries would also be nice or even a combination. If you want the sides of the pastries to rise then leave it plain or you can put milk on the edges so that it doesn’t rise so much. I left mine because I quite like the rise. Butter a large tray or line it with greaseproof paper and bake for around 10 -15 mins or until the edges are golden brown or have fully risen.


As a garnish I simply sprinkled brown sugar but you can melt some chocolate and drizzle that over the top. This recipe really is so quick and easy to make, experiment with it see what works, try different spreads or different toppings. Let me know what you choose to try and how the recipe works for you.
