So, unless you’ve been living under a rock you must have heard of the latest fad. Pokemon Go. So like any other person would, I downloaded it to give it a go and see what the hype was all about..
So, Pokemon Go is an app you download onto your phone, after trying to download the app on a tablet I’m pretty sure this app is only suitable for phones. The aim of the game? You walk around and see what Pokemon you can find and catch them. With each Pokemon your score goes up and you level up. It doesn’t take long to get through the early couple of levels as they don’t require many points. It took me only a couple hours to get to level 3! But if you’re walking around a quiet area it seems like there are fewer Pokemon to find.
With it’s release there have already been a number of complaints regarding the safety of its users. People who get addicted and walk around unfamiliar places have encountered issues. Also, I’m still a newbie at this game but I know once you reach level 5 you can challenge other users Pokemon at a ‘gym.’ Usually a fairly popular landmark or place. Your app can also tell you which Pokemon are close by you and how far some of the rarer Pokemon are.
My advice for any users playing this game or especially younger users is to make sure you know they area you are walking around well and walk with someone. Looking down at your phone and not looking where you’re walking can be a problem so always look where you are walking . Also, don’t greet people you don’t know in attempt for more Pokemon as this can be dangerous. The makers of the game; Niantic and The Pokemon Company have already given speeches regarding user safety as it has already led to problems for few.
In addition, Asda, have already issued Pokemon Go safety rules as distracted gamers abandon trolleys to run down aisles. It’s a good game, I like the concept of it but haven’t yet grasped total knowledge of how to play it. All users should be weary when using the game, of course but it is good fun when playing alongside friends. I think it’s good as it also encourages people to go out for walks but maybe walking with your eyes glued to a pone screen isn’t the most peaceful walk.
I don’t know if I’ll really get into the game, maybe it’ll take a while. Let me know what level you’re on, or if you like the game. How long have some of you been playing it and would you consider yourselves addicted? Hope you enjoyed this post!
