First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s officially 2016, just feels crazy doesn’t it? I feel like 2015 just flew by super quick! I think my resolution for 2015 was something like ‘eating healthy..’ Probably was.. What was yours? For our first post of the year (sounds a bit crazy that) we thought we’d share with you our thoughts on the New Year and how we plan to stay on top of everything.
New Years Resolution. You’ve probably heard this before about New Years Resolutions, how mundane they are, they don’t last very long and are just a bit pointless. Well we can somewhat disagree with that because it really just depends on the person and how committed they are to their resolution. After January, about mid February it sort of wears off because its not really the New Year anymore is it? You’re about a month and a half into the year and gone back to your old routine, I feel that looking back on your actions and decisions to make yourself a better person should be a weekly if not, daily occurrence. The new year is just an excuse for everyone to do it.
We will never be an ‘ideal’ or ‘perfect’ person. But we can only try, every day we should think about every decision we make and who it will benefit or affect, if its the best decision for us to make; emotionally, financially, physically. The new year just puts a clean fresh image into your mind and pushes you slightly more towards a change. This year, I plan to use every single day to help me towards my goal which is passing my exams but yours could be; getting a job, moving out, finishing a degree or just being a better person. Make a note of every great occurrence and every not so great occurrence in a book, so at the end of the year you can look back on it to remind yourself of the hurdles you’ve overcome.
I hope you all have a wonderful year ahead of you and strive towards your goals and ambitions. You’ll never be ‘perfect’ because there is no ‘perfect’ but you can just be a better you. Happy New Year!
