I guess you could say we are in a rush to get out of the summer season, firstly with our transitioning into a routine post a while ago, and now we’re sharing our love for our favorite matte makeup. But as girls with typically combination to oily skin, if a product claims to mattify all day, in the basket it goes.
Starting with base, before you start priming you should use a moisturizer as past of your skincare routine to prep the skin for makeup and a good eye cream as this will help your makeup sit better. After that step apply a mattifying primer our favourite one which also helps minimize pores and prolong the wear of makeup is the L’Oreal infallible primer. This primer helps create a barrier between your moisturizer and foundation which is much better for your skin. They also have a matching foundation to go with this primer though the one we’re sharing with you today is the Mac Studio Fix Fluid. This is quite a controversial foundation as some love it whilst others hate it but let us know if you would like a more in depth review on this foundation. We find its great and has quite a good coverage once you get past the slightly strange smell which is common with a few makeup products from Mac.
When it comes to powder we believe translucent ones are much better that their colored counterpart which looks cakier much quicker. One of our favourite mattifying powders is the Rimmel Match Perfection loose powder, this powder adds no colour and sets everything in place amazingly well. The brush we would pair with this powder is the Real Techniques Multi Task brush, but throughout the day when only the T-zone tends to get oily a smaller brush that picks up less product is a better choice for both application and due to the smaller size, one of our current favorites for this is the EcoTools correcting concealer brush.
These simple products help keep our makeup from slipping and sliding all day and ensures it looks matte whilst not cakey. So what do you prefer, matte or dewy makeup?
