‘Exercise’, a word that makes most people shudder when they hear it but staying active shouldn’t be something that makes you stress as it shouldn’t be looked at as a chore. When you hear the word exercise you should feel motivated, and look forward to it! It is one of the best things you can do for your body, research suggests that it lowers the risk of several chronic diseases and boosts your mood due to the increased production of the brains serotonin levels. So, even if you don’t enjoy it, we’ll share with you some quick tips on how to make it more bearable.
If you are someone who gets bored easily and feels pressurized by personal trainers, bring a pal along with you. This is probably one of the easiest things to do as you and your friend can go for a jog in the park together or even push each other to see who finish a workout at the gym or even at home first you can even try our workout post we did last week. Partner workouts are something my sister and I always do to push ourselves that much more. It will make you more competitive and you are also more likely to do better this way.
Listen To Music
When you are trying to finish your last 10 squats the sighs of accomplishment from your partner may not be exactly what you want to hear, if this is the case and you prefer training alone then make a playlist. Block yourself out from the world and focus on your mind and body as music really does help encourage you if you have the right songs on your playlist. Spotify also have set playlists that you can choose from specific to weight training or a morning run which are great. So put your headphones in and go for a run!
Play A Sport
This one is probably curls’ favourite method of exercise, because whilst you’re playing you completely forget about how tired you are and become more focused on winning. It is also the best way if you are not too keen on intense exercise as it so much fun. Also by playing a sport you are able to meet new people and develop new skills, you could even join a team. Some of the sports we do include hockey, badminton, basketball and football but there are also many others out there that you can choose from you just have to find the right one to suit you.
Start Off Slow
If no other tip you have read so far works for you hopefully this one will, when a lot of people start trying to live a healthier lifestyle they ignore their own capabilities and go straight to the most intense routines or the longest run This is not the most efficient way to train your body. We are not saying that you shouldn’t push yourself, far from it. Instead we believe that you should set yourself a goal just above your limit again because a goal too high may also lead you to quit. Draw up a plan for the week and start slowly and increase intensity or time as you progress, but whatever you do, don’t give up!
We really hope you found one of these tips useful and would love to know if you want to see more posts like this or more tips in the future. Let us know if you tried any or share it with a friend. But always remember if whatever speed you are going or however many push ups you are capable of, it is still more than the person you used to be. Just something to bear in mind when training.
